Owner & Principal Consultant: Carmen Mosley-Sims, J.D., CIPP/US
I’m a seasoned problem solver with more than two decades of experience working with the public, private, and non-profit sectors. I am an Arkansas-licensed attorney with 20 years’ experience. I have clerked for the federal court in Kansas City, MO, and served with Legal Aid of Arkansas in the Mississippi River Delta. I was assistant division director for the Division of Youth Services and coordinated programming and legislative action with Behavioral Health Services, Children & Family Services, and Medicaid. In the private sector, I have worked in private practice and consulted with insurance giants to build their privacy programs and bring them into compliance with the complex landscape of state and international privacy laws.
At age 38, I became disabled due to injuries exacerbated by an undiagnosed rare genetic disorder. There are many lessons I learned over the last decade seeking proper diagnosis, treatment for my symptoms, and supportive care in the state of Arkansas. I want to use my personal experience to help others who may need to navigate these complex systems.
This is why I started Gemstone Legal Consulting – to focus on doing what I love, and to help people in the ways I can best. Listening, researching, problem-solving, analyzing. Making core legal wisdom available at an accessible price.
